Hope Animal Shelter User Interface
This is a responsive website I designed in Adobe XD for a mythical animal shelter.
I conducted interviews, used qualitative and quantitative research, a competitive audit, personas and user journey to create the information architecture and inform the overall design.

Finding your new room mate
For each pet I chose to create a graphic similar a gaming 'stats' chart, with a quick visual description of core traits, such as playful, trained, protective and friendly. There are corresponding sliders used on the search pages to choose by varying percentages of those dynamics.
Having the images of similar results based on user input on the same page allows for discussion of options without searching again and leaving the interface.
Splash page elements
As data shows, the more informed a person has about adoption, the less of a chance of an animal returning to the shelter.
An adoption check list and introduction paragraph to a first adoption and prominent shelter graphics are designed to offer answers to commonly asked questions. Juxtaposing that is a section of success stories and a gallery of new adoption photos.

Mission, community and contact
After the mission statement is a section describing the online community pages and a description of the volunteer work performed with the shelter. These are paired with public access to annual reports and tax returns. There are social media links throughout the site to encourage sharing the adoption experience and re-enforces the sense of community in the mission statement.
Pet Search and Lifestyle Match
There are two methods of searching, one more user-centric, offering an interactive lifestyle match for both adults and children with sliding settings that correspond with the traits graph shown with each pet.
There is a breed guide located prominently to provide more information along with an optional DNA analysis.
